GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON
Resolution Number 91 -78 -CC
WHEREAS, Grant County receives an annual payment from the Department of
Game, and
WHEREAS, in the past that payment was treated as a property tax payment, and
WHEREAS, that payment should have been treated as a Payment in Lieu of Taxes
or (PI LT), and
WHEREAS, adjustments to tax exempt status on each parcel have been made by
the Assessors Office, and
WHEREAS, for 1991 it has been agreed that the 1991 PILT payment from the
Department of Game will be distributed like leasehold tax to those qualifying taxing
districts,
NOW THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the 1991 PILT payment from
the Department of Game will be distributed like leasehold tax to those qualifying taxing
districts, and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED, that the Treasurer's Office is authorized to distribute the
Department of Game PILT payment by the same method used for the leasehold tax
distribution.

RE: Department of Game PILT distribution
For quite some time, the Department of Game annual payment to
Grant County was treated as a property tax payment and not as a
PILT payment as it should have been. Adjustments to tax exempt
status on each parcel have been made by the Assessor's Office.
For 1991, we proposed distributing the 1991 payment as we do
leasehold tax. Per our discussion yesterday, it has been agreed
that the 1991 PILT payment from the Department of Game will be
distributed like leasehold tax to those qualifying taxing
districts. With this major change of distribution being made
compared to prior years, please have a resolution made author-
izing the Treasurer's Office to distribute the Department of Game
PILT payment by the same method used for the leasehold tax
distribution.
Please be thinking ahead at budget time on how you would like
future PILT payments to be distributed. Most, if not all,
counties distribute the entire payment to their county general
fund.
