GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON
PROCLAMATION ON RED CROSS MONTH RESOLUTION NO. 91 -22 -cc
WHEREAS, the Coulee Basin Chapter of the American Red Cross continually
strives to alleviate human suffering; and
WHEREAS, the Red Cross depends on public support through the United Way,
and the generosity of the community for its livelihood in order to extend emergency and
volunteer services; and
WHEREAS, the Red Cross operated a blood collection center and testing
laboratory which has been given the top rating in the nation; and
WHEREAS, the Red Cross recruits valuable volunteers to help in the blood center,
with senior citizens, youth and children's programs, and to help families and military
personnel in emergencies, regardless of race, religion, political or ethnic affiliation; and
WHEREAS, the Red Cross maintains various instructional safety programs, such
as CPR and First Aid; and
WHEREAS, President George Bush and Governor Booth Gardner are proclaiming
the month of March as "RED CROSS MONTH" and the Board of Grant County
Commissioners feels that special recognition should be given all who participate in Red
Cross work;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF GRANT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DOES
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF MARCH 1991 AS RED CROSS MONTH AND
URGES EVERY CITIZEN TO SUPPORT THE SERVICES OF OUR LOCAL RED CROSS.
