Week of January 14,1991
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by
Chairman Don Goodwin. Commissioner Fancher and Commissioner Winzler were in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The minutes of the week of January 7,1991 were read and approved as written.
Chairman Goodwin was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation or Work
Interruption of Jeanette Wilson of the Grant County Alcohol Department, Bill Hitzroth and
Connie Manning of the Dispatch Center.
the Commissioners approved the salary increase of Deputy Sheriff Kim Cook to
$1,770.30 per month effective November 1,1990.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Kerri Milbrandt, Corrections
Officer with the Grant County Sheriff Department to $1,350 per month effective December
1,1991.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Mental Health
Director to hire Mary Price, Grand Coulee Therapist at the 90% level.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Mental Health
Director to hire Teresa Perales at the 90% level based on qualifications and experience.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Economic
Development council to rent an office in the Courthouse.
The Commissioners re -appointed Richard Hunt to a further term on the Grant
county Boundary Review Board.
A motion was made by Commissioner Fancher and seconded by Commissioner
Winzler that Resolution Number 91.6 -CC regarding the District court Revolving Account
be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Fancher and seconded by Commissioner
Winzler that Resolution Number 91 -7 -CC setting the levies for the 1991 taxes be passed.
The motion carried.
The Commissioners met with the Sheriff regarding increase in staffing levels and
various other matters of mutual concern.
The Commissioners met with the Historical Society regarding the status of the
Museum. They will be coming in again next week to make final decisions.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected Officials
regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was continued until January
15,1991.
January 15,1991
The session was continued at 8:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding Bid
Authorization -Automobiles and Pickups, Landfill Compactor, Travel Authorization,
Dropbox Attendant -Wages, Executive Session -R/ W Negotiations.
The Commissioners approved out of town travel to allow Dave Heilman and Ron
Moore to travel to Vancouver, British Columbia to evaluate updated computer software.
The Commissioners approved the increase in hourly wage of the Dropbox
Attendants from $4.25 to $4.50 beginning January 1,1991.
The Commissioners signed Authorization to Call for Bids for Automobiles and
Pickups, and for a Landfill compactor. Bid openings will be January 29,1991 at 10:00
a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Department Claims Fund Voucher
Approval No. 12-1 through 12-58 in the total amount of $23,731.80.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 1/14/91 in the total amount of
$218,033.95.
A motion was made by Commissioner Winzler and seconded by Commissioner
Fancher that Resolution Number 91 -8 -CC relating to the facts requiring an appropriation
and expenditure of funds for the Alcohol/ Drug Abuse fund #115, Department #157 in
the amount of $7,400 be passed. The motion carried. Public Hearing will be held
January 29,1991 at 1:30 p.m.
The Commissioners received notification from the Superior Court Judges that
Bruce Pinkerton had been appointed Guardian ad Litem in Juvenile court for the period
of January 1,1991 to June 30 1991. Mr. Pinkerton will be compensated in the amount
of $2,500 for each complete month of service.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected Officials
regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until January
22,1991.
