HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of January 22,1990 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session. The Commissioners appointed Donna Roe to a position on the Grant County Mental Health Board. The Commissioners approved the salary of Michael Shay of the Sheriff Department as Chief Deputy at $2440 per month effective February 1,1990. The Commissioners approved the salary of William Wiester at $3046 per month effective February 1,1990 as Grant County Sheriff. The Commissioners approved the salary of Tina Lambert of the Emergency Services Department at $7.00 per hour. The Commissioners were notified that the Noxious Weed Control Board had selected Robert J. Leonard as their new Coordinator effective March 1,1990. Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the Liquor License Transfer from Ephrata Speedway to State Central Speedway. The Commissioners approved the re -appointment of Bob Baucke and Don Martin to further terms on the Planning Commission. The Commissioners sent a letter to Governor Gardner regarding the law and justice problems. The Commissioners set a Public Meeting regarding the proposed setback requirements in commercial and industrial zoning districts for February 6, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. The Commissioners signed a Dispatch Services Agreement for 1990 with the City of Mattawa. The Commissioners signed the Working Agreement between the Sheriff Department Corrections Officers and the Teamsters Union for the 1989-90 years. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commis- sioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 90 -4 -CC regarding the 1990 levies be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners approved the salary of George Rios of the Grant County Alcohol and Drug Center at $1500 per month effective January 1, 1990. The Commissioners approved the salary of Nga Brown of the Planning Department at $1100.80 per month effective March 1,1990. As there was no further business the session was continued until Janaury 23,1990. January 23,1990 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners notified the Auditors Office that the Fair Office employees should receive a 3% increase the 1st of January 1990. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding Bid Award Recommendations -Cars and Pickups, 'D.5' NE, Ephrata Landfill, Road Vacation Petition -'7' SW, Personnel. The Commissioners approved the recommendations of the Public Works Director regarding the purchase of automobiles. A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commis- sioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -5 -CC relating to the facts requiring an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Alcohol/ Drug Abuse Fund #115,Department 4157 in the amount of $28,950 be passed. The motion carried. Public Hearing will be held February 13,1990 at 1:30 p.m. A Public Meeting was held regarding the vacation of a portion of the plat entitled Desert Aire, Division 'A'. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that Res- olution Number 90 -6 -CC in the matter of vacating the aforesaid portion of Desert Aire Plat be approved with the stipulation that the property be sold to one owner. The motion carried. A Public Meeting was held regarding the vacation of a portion of the Plat entitled New Town of Trinidad. A motion was made by Commis- sioner Chandler and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 90 -7 -CC in the matter of vacating a portion of the Plat of New Town of Trinidad by passed. The motion carried. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 1/22/90 in the total amount of $108,885.17. The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected Officials regarding matters of mutual concern. As there was no further business the session was adjourned until January 29,1990.
