GRANT COUNTY ORDINANCE CHAPTER 26
ADOPTION OF NORTHWEST ENERGY CODE AND STANDARDS, 1987 EDITION
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Board of Grant County
Commissioners as follows:
26.01.010 Energy Code. Established; there is hereby adopted the
Northwest Energy Code and Standards, 1987 Edition. When NWEC is used
this shall stand for Northwest Energy Code and Standards, 1987 Edition.
26.02.010 The provisions of adopting the NWEC shall
authorize the County Building Department to seek application with BPA
for participation with other Counties and Cities within Washington
State, to request assistance as provided in BPA's early adopter's
program, for benefits, for home owners, home builders, the County
building inspection program and benefits to the utility of Grant County
Public Utility District.
26.04._010
Repeal of State Energy Code. The adoption of the
NWEC shall supercede the provisions of the Washington State Energy Code
as previously adopted, and therefore the State Energy Code is hereby
repealed.
26.06.020 Repeal Any portion of the Grant County Building Code Chapter
24, in conflict with this energy code, is hereby repealed.
26.08.010 Enforcement It shall be unlawful for any person, firm,
corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve
or convert any structure without compliance to the standard set forth in
the NWEC. Enforcement of NWEC shall be through County Ordinance,
Chapter 24.2.030 of the Building Code Ordinance.
26.12.010 Severability, If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance is, for any reason, held to be invalid or
unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity or
constitutionality of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The
Grant County Board of Commissioners hereby declares that it would have
passed this ordinance, and each section, subsection, clause or phrase
hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more section,
subsections, sentences, clauses and phrases be declared
unconstitutional.
26.14.101, Effective date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage.
