Week of May 21,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners requested the Auditors Office to delete the amount
budgeted in the Fair budget for the Fishing and Recreation Show since they
were not going to have the show this year.
The Commiss.ioners appointed the following individuals to serve on the
South Banks Lake Mosquito District Board: Scott Rock -3 year term, Bruce
Geer -3 year term, Bob Martin -3 year term, Kelli Kemp -2 year term, Tom
Hennigh-2 year term.
The Commiss2oners appointed Sam Lorenz to be their member on the Kittitas
County CPN Committee on the Rabanco Dangerous Waste Site.
The Commissioners approved the request by Sharon Kiehn, Director of
Grant County Mental Health Department to add a Masters Level Therapist
position to the staff of Grant County Mental Health at the salary of
$24,824 with benefits to begin after 6 months.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the liquor license appli-
cation of McCormick & Schmicks for the Champ de Brion Meadow.
The Commissioners requested the Grant County Fair Manager, Bill Bailey
to meet with Department of Labor and Industries regarding the list of
Fair Employees, both volunteer and paid.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected Officials
regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was continued until May
22,1990.

The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners.met with the Public Works Department regarding Public
Works Trust Fund -(Joanne McCaughan), Bayview Heights -Replacement Bond,
10:30 Hearing(Surplus Property), I-90 Signing, Six Year Program.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the subdivision bond of
Larry Houston, et ux, for O'Sullivan Shores.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner
Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -36 -CC in the matter of a county wide
surplus equipment and merchandise auction sale, order declaring surplus
be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin, and seconded by Commissioner
Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -37 -CC in the matter of the County wide
surplus equipment and merchandise auction sale, order granting sale be
passed. The motion carried.
A Public Meeting was held regarding the Edwin Buchert Zone Change request.
After some discussion from the public in attendance a motion was made by
Commissioner Goodwin, seconded by Commissioner Chamberlain that the Planning
Commission recommendation of denial of the request be upheld. The motion
carried. The Commissioners did suggest that Mr. Buchert might consider
going back to the Planning Commission with a revised plan that would answer
some of the concerns the surrounding neighbors had.
A Public Meeting was held regarding the Gloria Scott request for zone
change. A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin, seconded by Commis-
sioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -38 -CC adopting the Planning
Commission Recommendation for approval of the zone change be passed. The
motion carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included int he list filed in the Auditors Office 5/22/90
in the total amount of $380,842.04.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin, seconded by Commissioner
Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -39 -CC indicating that Michael Foss
is no longer an employee of Grant County Mental Health and Family Services
be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected Officials
regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until May
29,1990.
