HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of April 16,1990 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. Commissioner Goodwin was in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Chandler was in attendance later in the day. The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session. The Commissioners approved the salary of Garth A. Kofoed of the Juvenile Department at $1424.80 per month effective April 9,1990. The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Les Johnson of the Planning Department to 90% of the $20,000 per year approved for the position, effective date of the increase will be April 1,1990. The Commissioners signed an amendment to the July 20,1989 Services Agreement between Grant County and STEP Industries,Inc. The Commissioners denied a request from the Cooperative Extension Department for the purchase of a folding machine in the amount of $2000. The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from two former employees of the Sheriff Department. The matter was referred to the Prosecutor's Office for handling. The Commissioners approved a Request for Transfer of Funds from the Auditors in the amount of $29,500. The Commissioners met with Mr. & Mrs. Huston regarding their Plat. A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin, seconded by Commissioner Chandler that the Hustons be allowed to sell a total of 8 lots in parts 1 and 2 of the Plat. Then Mr. Huston will have the road paved in all 3 phases of the Plat to Public Works recommendations. The motion carried. The County will hold a mortgage on phase 3 until such time as the road is paved. The Commissioners met with various Elected Officials and Department Heads regarding matters of mutual concern. As there was no further business the session was continued until April 17,1990. April 17,1990 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding CRP Resolution -Cost -Share on 'I' SW, Dover Street Extension -County, Port, and Army Agreement, Hazardous Waste -Telephone Surveyors, Contract Execution - Wilson Creek, 'D' NW, Personnel matters. The Commissioners signed an authorization to call for bids for Auctioneering Services. Bid Opening to be May 8,1990 at 10:00 a.m. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commis- sioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 90 -27 -CC in the matter of initiating a county road project designated as CRP No. 90-18 be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners approved salary increases for Public Works Supervisory Salaries to be effective January 1,1990. The Commissioners signed a contract with Dellinger Enterprises,Inc. for Bridge projects. The Commissioners made a decision to appoint Jerry Hamley as the Prosecuting Attorney to fill the position left vacant by the retirement of Paul Klasen effective April 30,1990. Notification was sent to the Central Democratic Committee, Jerry Hamley, Ken Jorgensen and Monty Hormel. The Commissioners approved out of state travel for David Ritacco, Sharon Kiehn and Gary Chandler to attend the Northern Rhode Island Mental Health Center training for the development of the North Central Washington Regional Support Network. The Commissioners received a letter from Steven T. Cook, Town Councilman for the Town of George regarding I-90 Bridge Work Detours. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 4/16/90 in the total amount of $444,823.27.
