Courts:
i. OFFENDER/DIVERSION: All civil and criminal matters are still being held via WebEx, and we only have
in-person court hearings for Dispositions and Trials. The Offender unit currently has 223 cases, of
which, 144 cases are Diversion and Low Risk.
would like to bring to your attention that there has been a recent alteration in our Juvenile
Prosecutor assignment. This adjustment is expected to lead to a minor extension in the timeline for
the outgoing negotiations pertaining to the existing plea deals under consideration. It is noteworthy
that our previous prosecutor's tenure lasted approximately two months, and as of now, a new
prosecutor has assumed the role within the juvenile department.
ii. TRUANCY: We currently have 205 active petitions, 113 total stays, 250 stays filed so far this school
year, 127 stays lifted, 76 contempt of court filed this school year, and 64 extended stays this school
year. As of my last update, it is my understanding that Rebekah Kaylor remains actively engaged in
overseeing our request concerning ARY pick up orders and warrants, with the primary goal of
ensuring our strict adherence to legal regulations and the legislative intent.
To summarize, a provision within the new legislation established that, under specific circumstances, it
is permissible to petition the court for a pick-up order or warrant. This measure would result in
individuals being detained before their scheduled court appearance.
DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is also doing regular docket hearings, via WebEx.
Our dependency unit currently has 182 active cases. Out of the 182 active cases, we have 141
assigned to staff, 32 cases assigned to Volunteers and 9 monitored cases that are active but because
they have an attorney, there is no need for a GAL.
4) Chelan: We have transitioned our meetings to a bi-weekly meetings with the purpose of
collaboratively addressing any issues that may arise. In alignment with Chelan County's counsel and
responding to a specific request from law enforcement, we have taken the decision to permit

Chelan County to conduct intakes during regular business hours. Recognizing the mutual advantages
inherent in this arrangement, we have opted to proceed in accordance with this request.
Administration:
L The Association has formally received the proposed contract from the Human Resources
department the past week. Subsequently, a voting process will be conducted by the
Association and its members, in the near future.
ii. I have successfully submitted my request to attend the WAJCA Summer Conference. The
request has been signed and approved. Consequently, I am confirmed to participate in the
conference scheduled from September 11th to September 14th, 2023. Thank you for
considering and approving my participation in this event.
iii. We have recently submitted a grant application to the Crime Victim Service Center (CNBC).
The Comprehensive Services grant represents an opportunity to secure an increase in
funding compared to our current VCAN grant. While this would render us ineligible to apply
for the VCAN grant next year, this will enhance financial support provided by CVSC grant
and this outweighs any potential limitations. We anticipate that successful applicants will be
notified of the results by the end of the month. I will keep you well-informed of any
developments as we wait the outcome.
