In the Matter of Mileage
Rate for Private Cars
Used on County Business
RESOLUTION NO. 90-43 -CC
WHEREAS, the 1974 Special Session of the State Legislature removed
the statutory limitation, on Counties, of the rate per mile allowed
to employees and Board members using private cars on County business;
and
WHEREAS, the effect of said removal is to place the responsibility
for setting the allowance in the legislative body of the County(Board
of County Commissioners), the same as other minicipalities; and
WHEREAS, on January 23,1978 the Board of County Commissioners did,
by resolution, establish the mileage allowance at fifteen cents(15G) per
mile; and on May 29,1979 at eighteen cents(18�) per mile; and
WHEREAS, there has been a substantial increase in the cost of gasoline,
oil and other expenses incurred in operating an automobile;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
to hereby establish the allowance, for use of private vehicles on county
business, at twenty-five cents(25q) per mile; said rate to be effective
June 1,1990.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution supersedes Resolution
No. 79 -60 -CC dated May 29,1979.
