HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of June 25,1990 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. Commissioner Chandler was in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session. The Commissioners approved the salary of Shauna L. Webb of the Clerks Office at $4.50 per hour effective June 1,1990. The Commissioners approved the salary of Eli A. Garcia of the Juvenile Department at $960 per month. The Commissioners approved the salary of Max Healy of the Sheriff Department at $2,676 per month effective July 13,1990. The Commissioners approved the request for transfer in the Data Processing Department in the amount of $52,620.00. The Commissioners received a copy of the Environmental Checklist and Determination of Non -Significance for the proposed golf course to be located at the old Big Bend Community College South Campus from the City of Moses Lake. The Commissioners approved a letter written by Sam Lorenz, Grant County Building official to the Town of Quincy regarding construction of a controlled atmosphere building by Jack Jones. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Com- missioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -53 -CC in the matter of establishing a Fair Change Fund be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Com- missioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -54 -CC setting a Public Hearing regarding an emergency appropriation in the Alcohol/Drug Abuse Fund 44115, Department 44157 in the amount of $7,050 be passed. The motion carried. Public Hearing will be held July 17,1990 at 1:30 p.m. The Commissioners met with representatives of the local VFW and American Legion regarding the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund. The Commissioners met with Harry Burcalow of Washington State University regarding the Cooperative Extension Department. As there was no further business the session was continued until June 26,1990. June 26,1990 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Commissioner Chamberlain and Commissioner Chandler in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding RAP Project Submittals, Groundwater Monitoring Grant (Ephrata Landfill), Dust Pallatives. Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign RAP Project Submittals on Bridge 41338, Bridge 44315, Bridge #345, Road D-NE/6.5-NE/E-NE, Road K-SE/1-SE, Road B -NW, Potato Hill Rd.,Dodson Rd., Mae Valley Rd.,Sage- brush Flat Rd., 7 -NE Rd.,5-NW/U-NW Roads,19-NE/NW,Frenchman Hill Rd. The Commissioners signed an Authorization to Call for Bids for the sale of a Screening Plant. Bid Opening will be July 17,1990 at 10:00 a.m. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval #6-1 through 6-3 in the total amount of $13,653.87. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Com- missioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -55 -CC in the matter of Declaring County Equipment Surplus regarding the 1947 Screening Plant located at Ancient Lake Pit X648 be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners approved the appointment of Margaret Dawson of the Auditors Office to the Position Evaluation Committee to replace Bob Mosher. The Commissioners approved the salary of Elizabeth Palachuck of the Auditors Office at 90% of the salary for a License Deputy effective July 9,1990. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for pay- ment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 6/25/90 in the total amount of $135,240.79. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for the Month of June in the amount of $176,913.62. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Com- missioner Chamberlain that Resolution Number 90 -56 -CC amending the Grant County Boating Ordinance be passed. The motion carried. Chairman Chamberlain drafted a letter to Representative Curt Smith regarding the Law and Justice Bill. As there was no further business the session was adjourned until July 2,1990.
