HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of September 24,1990 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session. The Commissioners approved the Request for Transfer in the Grant County Health District in the amount of $600.00. The Commissioners approved salary increases in the Grant County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Department in the following positions: Emergency Services Specialist -Salary increased to $28,500 per year. WA State Licensed Practitioner(with prescriptive authority) - Salary increased to $34,000 per year. Outpatient Therapist -Salary increased to $26,500 per year. Grand Coulee Program Manager -Salary increased to $27,000 per year. Clinical Director II -Salary increased to $31,500 per year. The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Janeen R. Downing of the Clerks Office at $1,054.40 per month. The Commissioners received a letter from the Grant County Sheriff regarding the need for added manpower in the Grant County Sheriff's Department. The Commissioners approved the request by the Sheriff to purchase a used vehicle for use by the Department. A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -94 -CC relating to the transfer of funds within the 1990 budget of the Current Expense Fund #001 in the amount of $23,500 be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners received a signed copy of the contract for the county to handle building inspections for new construction in the City of Soap Lake. The Commissioners received a signed copy of the OBRA Contract Number 3820-72601 amendment between Grant County Mental Health and Department of Social and Health Services. The Commissioners set a Public Meeting on the proposal by BBM Partnership to manufacture Dithiocarbamate. Public Meeting will be held in Moses Lake at the Police Justice Court Building on October 29,1990 at 7:00 p.m. The Commissioners met with various Elected Officials and Department Heads regarding matters of mutual concern. As there was no further business the session was continued until September 25,1990 September 25,1990 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding various matters which included driving out to look at a road problem at Mike Brown's. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal in the amount of $171,834.09. The Commissioners signed a Notice of Public Hearing regarding a new budget for 121-163 Law and Justice Fund from unanticipated state funds in the amount of $279,915. Public Hearing will be held October 8,1990 at 1:30 p.m. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 9/24/90 in the total amount of $159,093.58. The Commissioners held a Public Meeting on the proposed Preliminary Plat of Gilbert Levander near Moses Lake. Reference was made in the letter from the Planning Director to a neighbor of the proposed Plat area Mr. Rex Chamberlain and his father who spoke in opposition to the Plat. Commission Chairman Chamberlain requested that the record show that he was not related to the Chamberlain in the letter. After some discussion regarding the proposal a motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner Chandler to return the matter to the Planning Commission for further consideration. The motion carried. The Commissioners met with Gerard Fischer and Cliff Sear regarding problems at the Ephrata Hospital regarding treating of persons in custody. The Commissioners met with Grant County Mental Health Board and Director Sharon Kiehn regarding areas of mutual concern.
