10:10 a.m. The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider an Ordinance
amending Ch. 9.07 of the Grant County Code titled "Dangerous Dog and Potentially Dangerous
Dog".
No one from the Sheriff s Office spoke of the changes so Commissioner Carter relayed that the
ordinance amendment will reduce the fines associated with Dangerous Dogs as follows:
• First Offense - $500
• Second Offense $1000
• Third and subsequent Offense - $2000
This reduction is to allow the state mandated 105% tax that is added to each fine listed above,
through District Court.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stevens, seconded by Commissioner Carter to close the
public comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Carter
moved to approve the ordinance as presented. Commissioner Stevens seconded and the motion
passed unanimously. The hearing adjourned.
