This year additional lights were installed on the Old Courthouse wash light array which require
commissioning and programming. In working with the supplier on getting costs to do this work
they mentioned that an updated software package is available to make the commissioning and
programming sequences for the lights showtimes more user friendly. Attempts to make changes
internally have been tried but the current software is complicated, and changes are very difficult.
It is my opinion the County should have the software updated to the new enhanced and user-
friendly software, commission the lights with the new software and train to use the enhanced
software so the Facilities and Maintenance staff can implement changes in the future which in
turn will save the expense of having a technician travel to the County to do this type of work.
Therefore, I am asking the Grant County Board of Commissioner's permission to proceed with
this project to commission the added lights, update the software, and train to use the enhanced
software at a total cost of $ 9,459.71. This project would be funded from the Facilities and
Maintenance Professional Services Funds 001.112.00.0000.5183044100, which has a balance of
$55,643.21.
