The HCW reached out to Lincoln Financial to get further clarifications on whether or not adding Aflac back would impact our contract with them. The feedback we received stated that adding Aflac back would not cancel our contract but may impact renewal rates. Lincoln stated that they would need to look at total enrollment numbers at the time of renewal and adjust rates if we were not meeting the guaranteed minimums. The HWC has had many discussions regarding Voluntary Benefits and have recently sent out a survey to all Grant County Employees looking for additional feedback and guidance. There were 229 responses with results that did not suggest a large push from Employees to make any specific changes nor to keep any specific coverages available. At the May monthly meeting, the HWC discussed these results and responded to an email ballot on 6/4/19. There were 20 ballots returned, 16 in favor and 4 against. Therefore, the HWC would like to recommend that Grant County keep Voluntary Benefits with Lincoln Financial as they remain and unfreeze voluntary benefits with Aflac through Cheryl on a group rate with an individual plan. Please let me know if you have additional questions or would like additional details. Respectfully, Brittany M.
