3) Courts : COVID-19 Operation
i. OFFENDER/DIVERSION: We have been able to use our courtroom since November 16,
2020, there has been some technical issues with the quality of sound, but we are able to
still be functional. All civil and criminal matters are still being held via WebEx and we only
have in person court hearings for Dispositions and Trials. The court continues to exercise
discretion on issuing bench warrants.
ii. TRUANCY. Since the new Emergency Rule that was done November 10, 2020, we have seen
little to no filing for contempt's and new petitions. No confinement has been taken at this
point for truancy.
iii. DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is also doing regular dockets hearings via WebEx.
Martin Hall: No issues with transportation or communication. Martin Hall Board Meeting was held on
Thursday December 17, 2020, via Zoom. Kevin McCrae and I received the contracts last Tuesday and we
will have them in front of the board for signatures this afternoon for the Consent Agenda.
Administration:
We only have 1 employee on a modified schedule mainly working from home due to having kids doing online
school.
Needs of the Department
They installed the Bi -amp system in our courtroom tomorrow, but we are still waiting for our new sound
system to come. We are awaiting for the new sound equipment to fix sound issues.
