HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 23-051-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION No. 23- -CC EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN CHELAN COUNTY, DOUGLAS COUNTY, GRANT COUNTY, OKANOGAN COUNTY, CITY OF WENATCHEE, CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE, AND CITY OF MOSES LAKE TO ESTABLISH THE OPIOID ABATEMENT COUNCIL (OAC) FOR THE NORTH CENTRAL REGION WHEREAS, Chapter 39.34 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local governmental entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development of local communities; and WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington, by and through its Board of County Commissioners and Participating Local Governments, created and situated within the State of Washington, are vested with the authority to enter into an intergovernmental agreement pursuant to chapter 39.34 RCW; and WHEREAS, Chelan County, Douglas County, Grant County, Okanogan County, City of Wenatchee, City of East Wenatchee, and City of Moses Lake are Participating Local Governments in the National Prescription Opiate Litigation and were awarded funds; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Opioid Abatement Council for the North Central Region to administer Opioid Funds allocated to the Participating Local Governments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Interlocal Agreement be executed between Grant County and the Participating Local Governments. DATED this Irv--% day of June 2023.
