Request Summary:
In August 2022, Grant County received a grant from the Department of Social & Health Services
titled "DV Advocates and Services — SFY 23". The County received $85,36o.00 and has spent
$29,791 as of April 30, 2023. This leaves funds to provide staff retention stipends/ incentive
compensation in the amount Of $2,000 per employee to sustain continuity of domestic violence
programming and services. The County will provide a one-time retention incentive payment to all
eligible employees in the following manner:
a) A one-time$2,000 retention incentive payment will be provided to all eligible New Hope
and Kids Hope staff.
b) To be eligible, staff must be actively employed by New Hope or Kids Hope as of the start
of the grant, August l,2022 -and
c) Must agree to maintain employment from June 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
d) Payback for staff if leaving before the six-month period would be prorated.
Other Factors:
- The funds are provided by the state through the Department of Social & Health Services.
This grant is a reimbursement grant so if funds are not spent it reflects poorly on grantees.
The -purpose is to encourage employees to remain at New Hope and Kids Hope.

Retention Incentive Agreement
New Hope or Kids Hope agrees to pay, 'a one-time,
lump -sum Retention Incentive in an amount equal to $2,000 (the "Retention
Incentive"), all applicable tax reporting and withholding requirements will apply. In
return, New Hope or Kids Hope requires a six (6) -month employment commitment
beginning June 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. The employee acknowledges and
agrees that if voluntarily resigning prior to December 31, 2023, the employee shall repay
the Retention Incentive prorated to Grant County within 3o days of such Termination
event without reduction for any taxes withheld by the County upon its payment to you of
the Retention Incentive. For example, you resign your position effective December 1st. You
will submit repayment to Grant County in the amount Of $333-33.
Exceptions for repayment may include the following: (1) In the event that a long-term
employee plans t6 retire between June 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023, and has provided
proper advance written notice to the Employer. (2) In the event that the Employee
becomes ill, becomes disabled, and cannot return to work after signing this agreement.
By signing below, you agree to the one-time, lump -sum Retention Incentive and a
commitment of employment of six (6) months beginning June 1, 2023, through December
31, 2023. You also agree that the prorated amount is to be paid in full if you voluntarily
resign leaving prior to December 31St, 2023.
