Strategic Infrastructure Project Recommendation SIP No. 2020-01
Dear Ms. Vasquez:
This correspondence is to request an extension on the deadline for completion of the Strategic
Infrastructure Project Recommendation SIP No. 2020-01 for the City of Soap Lake's Division
Street South Sewer Main Extension project from February 10, 2021 to February 10, 2022.
The City has been diligently pursuing the design of the improvements, and is very near
completion of this phase of the project. Unfortunately, as with many activities this year, the
COVID-19 pandemic impacted the progress of the design efforts. The City was hopeful that the
work could be completed yet this year, however; due to the onset of winter weather the
construction phase of the project cannot begin until approximately April, 2021, which is beyond
the expiration date of the project award. A one year extension of the deadline should allow the
City to complete the project.
