Re: Request for Temporary Exception to Veteran's Assistance Fund Policy
The Veterans Assistance Coordinator is requesting a temporary exception to the amount of funds
allowed for each type of assistance. This assistance is in part because the COVID-19 issue has
had on our Veteran population as well as the rest of county.
I am requesting the exceptions be made only for the period NOVEMBER 3, 2020 —
DECEMBER 31, 2020. This request is only a temporary exception and further recommendations
will be made on the 2021 Veterans Assistance Fund Policy.
Recommended Temporary Exceptions:
• Food Allowance Allow more than 2 uses per year up to yearly maximum
• Utilities Allowance Allow more than 2 uses per year up to yearly maximum
• Rent/Mortgage Allowance Allow more than $1,000 up to yearly maximum
• Lifetime Limit Allowance Remove 3 -years Usage for remainder of year.
None of these requests for temporary exception will allow any Veteran to exceed the established
yearly limit unless previously approved.
