The Rodeo and Southfield lighting projects have brought to light (Pun) the need to revamp
additional power that had been attached to the old light poles. The power is used for various
events and the Rodeo for the beer gardens, food booths, timing equipment and the big screen.
The existing power was run overhead to each of the wood power poles. The new power will
need to be run underground to locations near the new light poles since the new poles will not
have any overhead wires.
We need to put this conduit, planned with the approval of this consent item, in the ground
when the ditches are open. We will then follow up after the project is complete to hook up sub
panels near each new light pole.
The Rodeo Association has agreed to provide the labor to do the install if we supply the
materials. They are not the only group that uses this power but they are the primary user of
these locations.
The cost of materials is $7459.41 including tax. I have $30,000 left in Barn 46 Floor rebuild that
we can use. The budget number is 126.168.00.9116.594146200. The purchase will be through
Platt Electric Supply, a standard supplier.
