Strickler ("Employee"). 1. Scope of Temporary Employment. Employee shall perform grant administration and related consultation. Unless otherwise necessary to ensure the County's best interests, it is anticipated the work hours required will be twenty (20) per week or less. 2. Compensation and Payment. a. County shall pay Employee for the services at a rate of $55.00 per hour, less required taxes and withholding, for the first thirty (30) work hours of the work week. County shall pay Employee for the services at a rate of $82.50 per hour, less required taxes and withholding, for work hours in excess of thirty (30) work hours during the work week. b. Employee will be hired in the category of "temporary employee' and be subject to the rights are responsibilities outlined in the Grant County personnel policies. 3. Schedule of Work: a. Work will commence on September 14, 2020. b. The work schedule will be set by mutual agreement. C. Work will cease on or before October 9, 2020. Any future work will be documented through a new Temporary Employment Agreement. 4. Subcontractors. Employee shall not subcontract or assign any portion of the services covered by this agreement without prior written approval of County. 5. Changes. County may, from time to time, authorize in writing changes or modifications in the scope of services to be performed under this contract. The compensation for the changes or modifications, whether a decrease or increase, shall be on the same terms and conditions as stated previously in this contract, or pursuant to terms and conditions mutually agreed to by the parties. 6. Insurance. Employee is not required to maintain any personal insurance coverage. 7. Indemnification. Employee shall protect, defend, indemnify and save harmless the County, its officers, employees and agents from any and all costs, claims, injuries, damages, suits, losses or liabilities of any nature, including attorney's fees, arising out of or in connection with the negligent acts or omissions of the Employee, officers, employees and agents in performing this contract, except for injuries and damages caused by the sole negligence of the County. County shall protect, defend, indemnify and save harmless Employee, its officers, employees and agents from any and all costs, claims, injuries, damages, suits, losses or liabilities of any nature, including attorney's fees, arising out of or in connection with the negligent acts or omissions of the County, its officers, employees a agents in performing this contract, except for injuries and damages caused by the sole negligence of Employee. 8. Termination. This agreement may be terminated by either party upon fifteen (15) days written notice if the other parry fails to substantially perform in accordance with the contract. 9. Effective Date. The effective date of this contract shall be the date that the contract is signed by an authorized representative of the County. 10. Compliance with Laws. Employee shall comply with all federal, state and local laws, ordinances, regulations, and rules applicable to the services to be performed under this contract.
