Central Services embarked upon a very aggressive capital schedule for fiscal year 2020. While many of
the projects were completed many were also impacted by the COVID pandemic and caused changes in
the way that we would approach much of the work.
Some of the work went above the original budgets and were more expansive than originally intended We
needed to utilize funds from projects not deemed as high a priority as the ones that we concentrated on.
One of these was the Center Field renovation. We had an overall budget of $30,000 to remove and
relocate the power pedestals and the water but the scope increased substantially when we added an ADA
path and lighting to the field, this also caused a greater deal of damage to the field than anticipated and
has required us to employ KJ's landscaping to remove a lot of unearthed rocks, level the field and
hydroseed to complete it.
Working with Jim McKiernan it was decided to utilize funds from the purple gate lighting, we also
utilized left over funds from the Bleacher kickplate project that was under budget. We utilized funds from
a Department of Agriculture grant to supplement the project, we knew once we began this project that it
would be greater than the estimated budget held over from 2019. This letter memorializes the events and
notes the moving of funds in association with fairgrounds projects.
