Re: Request to purchase equipment with CARES Act Funds
I am requesting permission to purchase the following equipment with CARES Act
grant funds:
ClearCount High -Speed Scanner in the amount of 22,500.
IM410 Envelope Opener in the amount of 10,437.84.
These items have been approved for purchase through the Secretary of State office.
I have attached a copy of the email verifying the approval. If you have any questions
please do not hesitate to contact me.

Subject: Equipment COVID
We are requesting to purchase a ClearCount High -Speed Scanner for the amount of 22500.00 This scanner will reduce
scan times which creates less human interaction and a safer environment. It will also allow us to use our current scanner
offsite in case of an emergency or COVID related event. Our second request is for a IM410 Envelope Opener for the
amount of 10,437.84 this opener will open 400 envelopes per minute and will reduce the amount of times that the
envelopes will need to be handled. With our current opener you must run the envelopes through twice and our
employees must have a letter opener as well because it still doesn't open the envelopes all the way. That equates to
touching them 3 times just to open them. Parts are not available for our current opener.
