RE: Exception to announced amendment to Policy 1202 "Travel Authorization and Expense
Reimbursement"
Dear Board of County Commissioners:
The July 1 proposed amendment to Policy 1202 states that the county is: suspending all Out -
of -County and Out -of State training & travel in order to safeguard the employees of Grant
County effective July 1, 2020.
Kids Hope staff, Trisha Glenn and Suzi Fode are scheduled to attend a Facility Dog training with
Assistance Dogs Northwest on Bainbridge Island July 28-31. This is a small training, not a
conference. The training will be with 4 people (including Trisha and Suzi) and 2 dogs at the
training camp site which allows for plenty of social distancing. Assistance Dogs Northwest is
concerned about COVID safety and will be preparing for our overnight stay on location to avoid
a stay in a motel.
I am requesting an exception to the amendment that suspends all out of county travel for
training purposes so we may attend.
