HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 20-054-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION RELATING TO A RESOLUTION No. 20- O5`F -CC SHAREDWORK PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is committed to providing support and protection to the employees of Grant County; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is concerned with the impact on budgets due to the financial ramifications of COVID-10; and WHEREAS, Washington State, through the Employment Security Department, provides for the SharedWork Program; and WHEREAS, the SharedWork Program provides financial benefits for employees impacted by reduced work hours; and NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of County Commissioners provides the following directive to all Grant County employees: a) Participation in the SharedWork Program: 1) The Human Resources Director is authorized to work with the Washington State Employment Security Department to establish an active SharedWork program. 2) Elected Official and Department Head are authorized to establish reductions in work hours (furloughs) following the rules of the SharedWork program with the express intent of delaying or avoiding position layoffs due to the economic impacts of COVID- 19. b) Policy Authorization: i) Work hour reductions will not impact the County contribution to healthcare. 2) Work hour reductions will not impact the accrual of banked leave.
