Re: Recommendation to contract with the Health District for Coronavirus Relief
Funds (CRF) through CARES Act Grant
The Grant County Health District submitted a budget proposal in the amount of
$1,329,246.00 for utilization of the Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) through CARES Act
Grant. Further discussions with Theresa Adkinson regarding additional utilization of
these funds to cover food and uninsured medical costs for those being tested and
quarantined due to COVID-19 have slightly increased the originally proposed budget.
A committee of Grant County officials met to discuss the allocation of funds and we felt
that Grant County's grant amount had sufficient funding to allocate the full amount
requested and would allow the Cities to allocate more funding towards small business
grants.
We recommend to contract with the Health District for grant funding through the
Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) Cares Act Grant for COVID-19 related expenses from
March 1St, 2020 through October 31St, 2020 not to exceed 1.4 million dollars.
