Grant County received a direct appropriation grant from the Department of Commerce in the amount of $281,300.00 for this project. The project will be structured as follows, Central Services and the the Fairgrounds adjust current capital budgets to ensure we have both the required amount of matching funds for this grant and for the amount over this grant in excess of $40,000. (It is expected to be somewhat less than 40K) for a total project cost between $280,000-$320,000 dollars. We have already adjusted our budgets to account for the grant. There would then be a delay between the first and second project while we await the reimbursement from the grant. We would then utilize those reimbursed funds to complete the second phase of construction, that being south field. This work will be purchased through and the contract administered by the King County Directors Association (KCDA), this is the same cooperative purchasing program utilized for our bleacher project and has been used extensively through the State of Washington by numerous public agencies as well as schools. As this is being purchased through a listed cooperative purchasing vendor listed in our purchasing policy, there is no need for a public bid as it has already been completed. We will record all bid documentation for our records as per the same policy.
