Re: Award Purchase of Cooling Tower Fill to Universal Tower Parts
It was noticed last year that our chilled water system was having issues cooling. During the
investigation process it was discovered the fill in the tower had significant scale buildup which
has a significant impact in reducing the cooling capabilities of the tower. Also noted was the
PVC fill and drift eliminators are to an age where they are brittle.
A quoted cost for the primary components was procured from suppliers, PVC fill and heavy
duty drift eliminators. The removal of the old and install of the new fill media will be done by
Grant County Facilities and Maintenance Personnel. The cost will be charged to account
126.168.00.9112.594736210 Capital Project Cooling Tower Law and Justice Building.
Air reps Quote for $5457.00, not including tax and shipping
Cooling Tower Products $1970.00, not including tax and shipping
Universal Tower Products $1882.00 not including tax and shipping
• Note: Shipping costs estimated about $1500.00
Therefore, I am recommending to the Board and asking for your approval to award this purchase
to Universal Tower Products for the purchase of the Media fill and heavy duty drift eliminators.
