RE: 2020 ASSESSMENTS FOR HILLCREST LIGHTING DISTRICT
In reviewing the cash balances for the Hillcrest Lighting
District, I find their cash balance for yearend to be very
adequate and too high. The original resolution stated that no
new assessment will be prepared unless there is an increase or
decrease in the annual anticipated lighting costs submitted by
the Grant County PUD. The assessment rate was increased last
year to ($19.00) per parcel. The ending balance going into 2019
is quite adequate in case the PUD raises their rates in 2020 and
will be adequate to cover for payments in January and February.
With no expected significant change to the monthly PUD bill for
2020, we should decrease the assessment from ($19.00) in 2019
back to ($16.00) in 2020 which includes the county's
administration fee. The administration fee will continue to be
$1.00 per parcel for 2020.
Please start the process to decrease the assessment rate to
$16.00 per parcel for 2020.
