Please revise my earlier request for a change in rates for youth events. I should have more
clearly defined that we would like to offer these rates to groups who have a majority of youth
from Grant County.
I am requesting approval of the following rates for Grant County based youth equestrian events
effective January 1, 2020.
Pavilion rental (Harwood and Ardell) $25/hour or $300 per day.
Stalls —Cleaning fee only ($12 for event)
Rodeo grounds rental - $25/hour or $300 per day
Waive the damage deposit for 2020 and 2021
Waive the reservation fee for 2020 and 2021
Normal insurance requirements are still in place.
The Fairgrounds goal should be to foster the development of youth activities which will further
the use of the facility in the future. Helping a startup youth rodeo group provides these
participants a constructive outlet for their skills and talents. As they grow up to be adults in our
county they will continue to utilize the facilities. I think of it as a feeder program for equestrian
activities at the Fairgrounds. Keeping youth involved and engaged helps foster their sense of
community and celebrates their accomplishments. It's the right thing to do.
Grant County based youth groups would be any youth, under the age of 18, who live in Grant
County. Organizations receiving these special rates must have a majority of their youth from
rant unty.

Barb, I need to revise the request for youth rates that the commissioners signed. In looking at application we want to
encourage youth organizations from Grant County to take advantage of the reduced rates. It was not intended for youth
equestrian events from outside Grant County such as WAHSET. We would lose a lot of revenue if we applied the lower
rates to all youth organizations.
My goal is to encourage Grant County youth groups to use the facilities even more.
