Please accept the following out-of-state travel request for addition to your next available consent agenda:
The Department seeks permission from the BOCC to send Brock Laughlin to the Construction Exam Center testing session
in Portland, Oregon from March 2 — March 6 for the purposes of completing his required Building Official
certification. The anticipated cost of this certification are is presented below:
Tuition - $950
Lodging will be for 5 nights at $150 per night (Portland per diem rate). Total of $750
6 days Meals & Incidentals at $49.50 first and last and $66 per full day. Total $363
Mileage to Hotel and back from Office. 550 miles at 0.575/mi. $316.15
Total week expense is approximately $1379.25
There is adequate budget in the Building Division budget to cover this expense without necessitating o budget
extension. Thank you for your consideration.
