The Federal Bureau of Investigation late last year completed a review of fees in
regards to fingerprint based criminal history checks. They have since increased the
fee by $1.25 as of January 1, 2019. The current fee is $12.00; the new fee will be
$13.25 after such review. In turn, the Washington State Patrol will be increasing
their fee in lieu of the increases federally as of July 1, 2019 (see below attachment).
The Grant County Sheriff's Office must utilize this system for Concealed Pistol
Licenses, currently charging $48.00. We are requesting permission from the Board
to increases our fee to $50.00 to cover such increases.
Please contact me if you have a question or concerns.
Respectfully submitted,
TD Canfield, Chief Deputy

Subject: FBI Fee Increase
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) completed a review of the fees charged for
fingerprint base criminal history record information checks and will be increasing their
fee rate effective January 1, 2019.
The fee currently in effect for FBI fingerprint based submission is $12.00; the new fee
January 1, 2019 will be $13.25, an increase of $1.25. If you are currently receiving
state and FBI background checks you will need to increase the fee you collect by $1.25
(i.e. Concealed Pistol Licenses). If your agency currently sends in payment with your
fingerprint cards you will need to be sure to send in with the fee increase starting
January 1, 2019. If an incorrect fee is received after January 1, 2019 WSP will reject
back for the correct fee.
Please feel free to contact me directly or by email if you have further questions.
Note: The Washington State Patrol fee will increase effective July 1, 2019,
another email will be sent out prior to this change with the new fees.
