The Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, the DEPARTMENT, and Grant County, the
GRANTEE, hereby mutually agree to amend Grant FY 18-90006-001 to extend the expiration date of the
grant from June 30, 2019 to June 30, 2020 and to revise the scope of work.
Expiration Date currently reads: June 30, 2019
Per this Amendment A Expiration Date shall read: June 30, 2020
Scope of Work currently reads:
C. Exterior Main Entry Rehabilitation
2.) The main exterior stair providing access to the front doors of the courthouse will be reconstructed
and slightly re -configured. The existing staircase is to be used as a foundation, allowing a new
concrete staircase to be poured over the existing structure. The top step will be extended east of
the main door by a one-step width. Similarly, the bottom step will also extend one-step width
beyond the existing bottom step. Designs for new stairway to be approved by program staff.
Per this Amendment A, Scope of Work shall read:

2.) The main exterior stair providing access to the front doors of the courthouse will be repaired, with
new railings fabricated to match the missing original railings while still meeting code
requirements.
3.) Restore terrazzo flooring uncovered as part of the main entry rehabilitation work (approximately
250 square feet).
The DEPARTMENT acknowledges and approves the requested changes by the GRANTEE for the above
change to the expiration date of the grant. This amendment does not change the total value of the let grant
amount awarded by the DEPARTMENT to the GRANTEE. All other conditions of the grant as set forth
in the body of the grant and amended herein by Amendment A remain the same.

SCOPE OF WORK
The GRANTEE shall cause or shall cause others to complete:
Rehabilitation of portions of the Grant County Courthouse, including but not limited to:
A. Elevator Installation (Completed September 2017)
1.) Install elevator providing for ADA access to all levels of the courthouse.
2.) Elevator to be installed at location approved by program administrators.
3.) Remove chair lift from main stair. Repair/Patch damaged marble stairway and terrazzo flooring
where needed.
B. Interior Rehabilitation (refer to Preservation Brief #18 & #21 noted below)
1.) Complete installation of HVAC and mechanical systems. (Completed December 2017)
Remove incompatible interior finishes from main entry lobby area and third floor
landing. Refinish/re-plaster original wall finish as needed upon removal.
2.) Remove acoustical ceiling tiles as indicated in project plans. Refinish/re-plaster original ceiling
finish where needed.
3.) Remove existing lighting in designated areas of the courthouse. Reproduction lighting to
be approved by program administrators.
4.) Restore main entry lobby to approximate original configuration per original drawings.
Mechanical equipment to be removed along with added partition walls/doors to fully open and
restore entry lobby finishes circulation.
C. Exterior Main Entry Rehabilitation
1.) Replace existing aluminum storefront doors with wood doors and hardware compatible to the
original design and period of the courthouse. Photo documentation will be referenced as the
replacement doors are designed. Program staff will approve final door design.
2.) The main exterior stair providing access to the front doors of the courthouse will be repaired, with
new railings fabricated to match the missing original railings while still meeting code
requirements.
3.) Restore terrazzo flooring uncovered as part of the main entry rehabilitation work (approximately
250 square feet).
The county will provide final architectural/construction drawings and/or designs for the work noted
above to the Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation to ensure compliance with the
Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic Properties.
In implementing the above scope of work, the county will reference the following Preservation Briefs to
inform treatments and methods in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the
Rehabilitation of istoric Properties:
