I am requesting a budget extension in the amount of $23,858.10 for the purchase of 2
SMART boards model 7386P45 86" Interactive display with compute card -black. The
SMART boards are $10,500 each. The Smart boards will need a wall mount for both,
which is factored into the overall Brice. The cost for the wall mounts are $1,050 or
$525.00 each. The purchase of this technology will be done through two grants. The
first grant was approved in fiscal year 2016 and expires on May 31 st, 2019, however
the monies were never carried over to our current budget. The second grant was
approved in fiscal year 2017 and never carried over to our current budget.
The Sheriff's Office (Emergency Management Division) is currently in receipt of two
grants from the U.S., Department of Homeland Security (HLS) through the State
Emergency Management Division (WAEMD). It is referred to as the Homeland
Security Grant Program (HSGP) and the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention
Activity (LETPA) funding subsection of the grant, is where the monies will be
expended from. The contract numbers are E17-074 for the FY2016 and E18-160 for
FY2017.
The Sheriff's Office has received authority from Washington State EMD grants
division to purchase two (2) SMART Boards for our new EOC in the Law & Justice
Building. These SMART Boards will be utilized for the activation of the EOC to
monitor emergencies and or disasters in the county. The SMART boards will also be
used for meetings and other trainings that can be hosted in this space.
Our intent is to purchase these units from CDW-G. Technology Services will make
the purchase once approved by the BOCC. CDW-G is currently on the vendor roster
as TS makes purchases from this vendor often.
