After a review of the fire detecting and suppression systems for the Law and Justice Building,
Jail and Work Release facilities, it was discovered that we are out of compliance in regards to
NFPA code requirements for inspection frequency. The last inspection was in January of 2017.
Johnson Controls, formerly Simplex Grinnell, has quoted a cost of $3794.00 to complete these
inspections. This cost is a state contracted cost through Sourcewell and the cost for this
inspection is already in the facilities budget.
After this one inspection is complete, we will be going to bid for a new service contract.
It is my recommendation to have Johnson Controls do the inspections.
