Central Services held a bid opening for the cleaning of all ductwork at the Youth Services
facility in Ephrata. We received two responses,
BF PowerVac from Kennewick WA bid $25,519.00
Northwest Abatement Services from Lakewood WA bid $7,300.00
Our estimate on this project based on bids received in the past was between $22,000 and $25,000.
This placed BF PowerVac in the area we expected. Northwest Abatement Services provided a
substantially lower bid, we contacted the company and asked if they were comfortable with this
and they stated they were. Furthermore, in their cover letter and in the submitted documentation
it is concluded they fully understand the scope of the work and intend to perform all of the work
as outlined in the bid documents.
I can find no reason to consider this Contractor "Non -Responsive" and as per RCW we will
accept this lowest responsive bid.
Therefore, I am recommending to the Board and asking for your approval to award this contract
to Northwest Abatement Services from Lakewood WA.
