2:01 p.m. The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider a request from
the Grant County Sheriff to remove the "kennel license requirement" from the Grant County
Code.
Sheriff Tom Jones stated that the Kennel License requirement refers to the breeding of dogs and
keeping them in Kennels. It doesn't alleviate a potentially dangerous dog that kennel
requirements the animal control deputy might require after someone has been ted for a
potentially dangerous dog. These are 2 separate issues. The Sheriff s Office has not been able to
locate any kennel licenses that have been issued for the breeding of dogs.
This will repeal Grant County Code 9.06.070.
A motion was made by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Commissioner Stevens to close the
public comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Stevens
moved to approve the repealing of Grant County Code 9.06.070 as presented. Commissioner
Carter seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The hearing adjourned.
