It is the opinion of the Central Services Director that this would be a community minded project that would draw more attention to, and more of the community to the courthouse for possible future events and enhance the look of the Courthouse, tastefully showing off and displaying brightly a historic courthouse unique in the State of Washington. The Courthouse is an icon in this community beloved by many and as we continue to rehabilitate the campus this is a fine way to bring the majesty of the Courthouse to life during the evenings. Central Services was made aware of funds in the Courthouse improvement (fund 308) totaling a little over $83,000.00. While I do plan to use some of that for furnishings for some of the offices who have not had the budget to update their offices, I would also like to use that for the purchase of the wash lighting system from Traxon Technologies, (Osram Americas). The cost of the lighting project would be $23,000.00 and by using these funds a budget extension would not be required. We would begin the installation as soon as possible however, the weather will dictate the opportunities we have to complete the project. With the Boards permission, Central Services would like to purchase this lighting system and begin this project right away.
