I am requesting your authorization for Out of State Travel for the K-9 Unit to travel to
Las Vegas for the 2019 International Police K-9 Conference. The conference dates are
March 5-7, 2019.
Corporal Ricardo Char, Deputy David De La Rosa, Deputy Nicholas Overland, and
Deputy Tyson Voss will carpool to the conference, leaving on March 3, 2019. They
plan to stay the night in Twin Falls, ID before continuing on to Las Vegas the morning
of March 4'h. They will return immediately following the conference and again stay one
night in Twin Falls before returning home on March 9`h
The conference will includes certification classes and over 60 venders. This is a great
networking opportunity where they will gain knowledge and experience from other K-
9 handlers from across the country.
There is a substantial savings by attending this training as opposed to other K-9 training
in-state. No overtime will be incurred for the duration of the training.
