Development Services:
The Fire Marshall requested and was approved to purchase a second pickup in the 2022 budget. Upon
receiving the budget approval Public Works ordered a Ford F-150 on January 12, 2022. Because of the
long delivery times the pickup was not delivered until March 2028. The budget approval for the new
pickup was not carriedover to the 2023 budget. The Fire Marshall has not taken ownership of the new
vehicle.
Development Services has vehicle, #0 that was approved for replacement on the 2023 Equipment
Expense Program. Public WorksIs requesting that the new Ford F-150 he used as areplacement for
vehicle #0669., Development. Services had requested that this vehicle be replaced with a pickup. Vehicle

Not sure which email is the good one so I sent this to both.
Al says you're looking for a letter or something about the new truck. I don't have a letter, but here's the email chain
showing where the truck is referenced in the Capital Facilities Plan (Annex B). Last I heard there still wasn't a build
date for this vehicle. I also heard from local law enforcement (sent you a jabber message) that the orders police
package versions of the FISO were all cancelled by Ford, and needed to be resubmitted. Have you heard anything on
that?

Development Services received approval from the BOCC for the 2022 budget to purchase an additional fleet vehicle.
My office has coordinated with John Spiess to initiate this purchase. Unfortunately, the timoline for production and
delivery dates are so far in the future that it is difficult to meet our office vehicular needs. This new additional fleet
vehicle will serve as a fire marshal response vehicle to fire events that require our office to investigate the cause and
origin of the fire. I only point this out because the vehicle serves as a critical response vehicle for our office, and is not
merely "just another car in the fleet' for general use,
John was able to find a vehicle that will suit our needs, is within our budget approval and allows us to use the additional
funds set aside for this vehicle to up -fit the truck to meet the demands of fire investigation. I have attached the
specifications sheet for the truck that John found, and we would like to see if making this purchase would be a viable
route as opposed to waiting for the traditional I procurement process to play out,
I have also attached the approved Capital Facilities Plan which shows the line item for Development Services' new
vehicle (reference Appendix 8 of the attached CFP document).
