This year it was budgeted to replace the air handling unit for the north dormitory area of the
Youth Services Facility due to condition and being past expected life cycle. The project was put
out to bid to many area contractors, with only one submitting a bid.
Basin Refrigeration and Heating submitted the bid for the total amount $20,682.72. This cost
includes the new handler, upgrading the old condenser to a new heat pump, new 20 kilowatt heat
pack, installation, wiring, new controls and taxes.
The budget for this project was estimated to be $20,000.00.
Considering the cost increases since the estimate was given, I am recommending that this
project be approved to proceed. I am there for asking that costs be paid from from the original
capitol BEET 1 fund 126.168.00.9112.594186003, budgeted for $20,000.00, and the remaining
$682.72 be taken from the Facilities and Maintenance Repairs fund, 001.112.00.0000.518304800.
