On March 6th, 2023, a fan in the air handler for the upper floor of the jail failed catastrophically.
The Facilities and Maintenance team was able 'to salvage one of the two fans to temporarily
supply air conditioning at a reduced volume while a search for parts began. The parts for the air
handler were found on March 15th at a dealer in Spokane. After confirming what was needed, Tom
Gaines contacted the Chairman for the Board of County Commissioners and received verbal approval to
proceed with the ordering of the parts.
The cost of the parts is $14,068.15. This cost includes tax.
There will also be a shipping charge that will be added that is estimated at $460.00, bringing the total
cost to $14,528.15. The costs for this will come from the Facilities and Maintenance Repairs fund
