RESOLUTION VACATING GRANT
COUNTY PROPERTY, BLOCK 15,
LOTS 9 AND 10 OF THE SCHAWANA
PLAT COMMON AREA
RESOLUTION No. 19- 9 "O -CC
WHEREAS, Grant County owns Lot 9 and 10, Block 15, of the Schawana Plat Common
Area, parcel numbers 071945000 and 071946000, in Schawana, WA; and
WHEREAS, Lots 9 and 10, Block 15 were dedicated as a Public Park, as recorded with the
Grant County Auditor in file 279015, Book 7, page 28, as located in Township 15 North, Range 23
East, on October 2, 1956; and
WHEREAS, RCW 58.17.212 authorizes the Grant County Board of County Commissioners
to consider the vacation of subdivisions or portions thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners have determined that these
parcels do not serve a public use; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners have determined that the
public interest will be best served by the vacation of Lots 9 and 10, Block 15 of the Schawana Plat
Common area; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on
December 3, 2018, at 1:00p.m., to consider public testimony either for or against the proposal.
WHEREAS, the December public hearing was continued to January 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. so
the Treasurer could gather further information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT after further review, the
Board of County Commissioners hereby vacate the portion of the subdivision described above.
