RE: 2022 Wage Enhancement Payments for New Hope/Kids Hope

Request Summary:
New Hope has received grant funding approved for one time wage enhancements from Department
of Commerce and DSHS. These funds are dedicated for retaining and recruiting a stable workforce in
victim service delivery.
There is $70,000 to be distributed in equal amounts to 20 employees of the New Hope and Kids Hope
departments. The County will provide a one-time incentive payment to all eligible department
employees in the following manner:
a) A one-time $3,500 incentive payment will be provided to all eligible individuals working
at New Hope and Kids Hope.

c) A full incentive payment will be paid to each individual. Thr ill be no proration per FTE.

e) To ensure applicable requirements are met, New Hope/Kids Hope accounting staff will work
with County Accounting for a smooth process.
HR Director Recommendation:
I have reviewed this request along with any applicable policy and I Recommend Approval contract
language. NI do not Recommend Approval
Other Factors:
The funds are provided by the state through a grant.
There is no impact on the county general fund to implement this request.
The purpose is to incent employees to come to and remain at New Hope and Kids Hope.
The wage enhancement payments are scheduled to be allocated for full reimbursement in April 2022
