RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION No. 23- 02 -5 --CC
CLOSING THE MATTAWA DROP
BOX SITE
WHEREAS, after analyzing the operational costs and revenues associated with operating the
Mattawa Drop box, Grant County has determined that the tipping fees does not cover the costs associated
With operating the site; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County has found that customer usage at the drop box site has continued
to decrease; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Commissioners took public comment.at public meetings on the
possible closure of the Mattawa Drop Box; and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Commissioners voted to close the Mattawa Drop Box on January
31, 2023 during the Grant County Weekly Consent Meeting; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of Grant County Public Works to close the Mattawa Drop Box
Site effective May 15., 2023; and
NOWp THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the Grant County Board of
Commissioners, has fully considered the issues regarding theMattawa Drop Box site, and finds that it is
in the best interests of Grant County to close the Mattawa Drop Box site effective May 15., 2023.
