I have attached a comparison of our 202 rates to thIse
highlighted in green.
Most of the rates are the same as 2020 primarily due to the fact that these rates really haven't
been realized due to our significantly reduced schedule in 2020.
Here is a summary of the proposed rate changes:
Eliminate the Vendor Trailer Parking rate and move vendor trailers to the Green Parking lot.
Very few fairgrounds allow vendor trailers to be parked at their booths and we do supply
lumper services.
Carnival presale rates have gone up and are set by Davis Shows.
Add the Ag building rate as we complete renovations. Note, it does not have a kitchen or
bathroom, so it is cheaper than our other rental buildings.
Establish a new kitchen rental rate. This is comparable to what commercial kitchens in the Tri
Cities and Spokane charge and will allow caterers or commercial food vendors to use our
kitchens.
Create an hourly rate for the ECC room which was vacated by Emergency Management.
Create a South Field rate which will now have lighting toward the North end of South field.
Reduce the rate we charge for shavings. We consistently get these for between $4.90 and $5.00
per bale. We were charging $8 which is high compared to our costs. Another consideration is
that, as we pave stalls, more shavings will be used for Equestrian events.
I also added all the rates that have been approved since my arrival. These are the Special Rates.
I would like to add one more group to the Columbia Basin Barrel Racing Club (CBBRC) rates.
There is a local chapter of the Washington Barrel Racing Association (WBRA) that is similar to
CBBRC. Both of these groups are local to Grant County therefor I propose the special rates.
Please approve the rate changes proposed for 2021.
