As discussed and approved during the 2020 fall budget process for the 2021 year, the Technology Services
Department was approved funds for Computer Software a Licenses funds. BARS code
501.179.00.0000.51880.3505
Now that Grant County is actively using Microsoft Office 365 which includes Microsoft OneDrive data storage,
we now have a need to protect and backup the files that exist in all users OneDrive. This will help guard
against malicious or unintentional user actions of deleting files that may be relevant to County business.
The cost for extending this service for one year is $8,455.20. Technology Services has sufficient funds to pay
for this licensing for the first year. Subsequent years would be added to the 501.179.00.0000.51880.3506
budget line for Software Maintenance. This would be a reoccurring cost and would increase the overall need
for funding of 3506.
I recommend that we extend our file backup capabilities to include these services.
