Per the approved Capital budget for 20211 am requesting authorization to purchase a flat deck
trailer for the purposes of building a crowd control barrier trailer. We have approximately 100
crowd control barriers that we use for various functions. We currently store them inside and
have to take them to the needed location by forklift, about 10 at a time.
Setting up a trailer for easy movement will cut down significantly on set up time.
I gathered three quotes from various trailer sales locations.
The quote was based on an 18 foot trailer, 7,000 pound capacity gross, 7 foot wide, double
axle.
Trailer Solutions came in with the lowest price at $2,999 plus tax, licensing and doc fees. B and
B Trailer solutions out of the TO Cities was next at $3250 and Wheels Plus in Wenatchee was
third at $3995. (See attached)
I request authorization to purchase the trailer from Trailer Solutions here in Moses Lake. This
purchase is from Capital Expense. The purchase would be made after Jan. 1, 2021.
In the time from the original request of 12/22 until 1/20 the price of the trailer at two of the
dealers jumped $400 and the third dealer cannot get the trailer with no time on when they
will have any in stock. Trailer Solutions is still the lowest price at $3399 plus tax and licensing
fees. I am requesting authorization to make the purchase at the higher price. My budget is
$4,000 and the price, out the door will bee $3929.27.
