I have examined the bids received and recommend the following action:

Re: Authorization to Purchase Equipment Parts and Repair.
Authorization to purchase:
Solid Waste:
Serial No. 21.023
Public Works is seeking authorization for the repair of the Bomag Trash Compactor, equipment
#0453, at the Ephrata Solid Waste facility. Work will be performed by Sonsray Machinery out
of Auburn, Washington at the Solid Waste shop. The estimate provided by the vendor for parts
and labor is $52,490.82 and may be higher due to unforeseen problems.
The repair is being performed by a sole source vendor due to only one Bomag dealer in the
Pacific Northwest area.
I have reviewed the information and find it acceptable to move forward with the purchase of
these items.
