Re: Authorization to Purchase Equipment not on the 2021 Equipment Expense Program
through State Contracts.
Authorization to purchase:
Development Services:
One (1) each 2021 Ford F150 4WD Crew Cab for Development Services in the amount of
$39,125.90 including sales tax from Columbia Ford through WA state contract #05916.
This vehicle replaces a 2012 Ford F250, #0630. The vehicle has collected enough funds in
ER&R to pay for the replacement. A direct replacement was part of the 2021 budget, but
Development Services requested to downgrade from an F250 to an F150.
This vehicle will be delivered and invoiced in 2021 and is not part of the 2021 Equipment
Expense Program.
I have reviewed the information and find it acceptable to move forward with the purchase of
these items.

This letter is being sent to nmemorialize our conversation on February 23, 2021 at approximately
3 -02 p.m. regarding the replacement of the above -referenced Development Service motor pool
vehicle.
The current vehicle exceeds the needs of the Department and we respectfull' v request that instead
of replacing it in like -and -kind with another or

more suitable to our daily needs within the office. During our conversation you outlined,
generally, the features that the truck would be equipped with and I verbally agreed to that
configuration., Of utmost impoitance-, the vehicle must include a hard top tonneau cover to secure
daily inspection equipment as well as fire investigation tools.
I understand this matter will need to go tbrough the Board, of County Commissioner's' consent
agenda during the week of March 1, 2021. If I can be of any service during that meeting, please
let me know and I Will, gladly call into provide any additional context to the Conuniss ioners as
needed.
